A Message from the President, Mike McCarron

Thank you for visiting the website of the St. Michaels Buzzers, the 2005 Ontario Provincial Junior “A” Hockey League and Ontario Hockey Federation Champions.

The Buzzers are as committed as any junior hockey program to developing young men for the next level of hockey. In their Minor Midget and Midget years, elite hockey players have to make some very hard decisions regarding their path to the next level – the NCAA or the OHL. In many cases the timing is not right as these young men need more time to develop while making sure that down the road they leave all of the available options open to them.

The St. Michaels Buzzers provide an alternative for the elite player in the competitive Ontario Provincial Junior A Hockey League (OPJAHL). In this league players can develop their skills, grow both physically and mentally while not limiting their future opportunities. Over the years our program has consistently given players the chance to do this. Since our inception in 1933, we have sent close to the 100 players to the NHL and over 300 have received athletic scholarships from the NCAA. Last year five Buzzers received Division I scholarships and are now playing in the NCAA while three graduated to OHL programs.
